1.These Terms and Conditions apply to the Cloud Email service provided by Fudan University (accessible via the domain mail.m.fudan.edu.cn ).
2.The Fudan Cloud Email service is available to all full-time undergraduate and graduate students who have been admitted under the national unified enrollment plan since the fall semester of 2021. This service is provided free of charge and will be automatically activated upon enrollment.
3.Each student's cloud email address is assigned in the format studentID@m.fudan.edu.cn , and each user is entitled to only one Fudan Cloud Email account.
4.The cloud email service operates under a real-name system. Fudan University assigns a corresponding alias to each cloud email account (i.e., both studentID@m.fudan.edu.cn and alias@m.fudan.edu.cn refer to the same email account). This alias is automatically generated based on the student’s name and year of enrollment. Requests for alias changes will not be accepted unless errors arise due to polyphonic characters or compound surnames.
5.After your email account is activated, please promptly bind your WeChat account and change the initial password to prevent unauthorized access and reduce cybersecurity risks. Do not leave the Fudan Cloud Email organizational unit, as this may result in your account being deactivated automatically.
6.The display name (sender name) associated with a cloud email account must reflect the student's official name or student ID. Modifying the display name to represent an organizational or group identity — such as “Youth Committee,” “XXXX Service Center,” or “Student XXXX Alliance” — is strictly prohibited.
7.According to relevant documents issued by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, universities are required to strengthen email security management, promptly clean up “zombie accounts,” and terminate email services for users who have left the university. For Cloud Email users, accounts will remain active for six months after graduation or departure and will be deactivated thereafter. Please back up and migrate your email data in a timely manner. Any data loss caused by delayed backup or migration shall be the sole responsibility of the user. If you have special circumstances and need to extend the use of your email account beyond the retention period, please submit an application to the Informatization Office.
8.The cloud email service is intended solely for general academic and work-related purposes during a user's enrollment or employment at the university. It is strictly prohibited to use the cloud email to transmit or process any confidential information.
9.Users must comply with the relevant regulations governing campus network usage. It is strictly forbidden to use messaging or email functions to harass others, to send bulk unsolicited emails through Fudan Cloud Email or the campus network, or to use the email service for commercial purposes. The Informatization Office reserves the right to suspend any account at any time if violations are detected.
Any email exhibiting any of the following characteristics will be considered spam:
(1) Unsolicited promotional emails, such as advertisements, newsletters, or other forms of marketing content, sent to recipients who have not requested or agreed to receive them;
(2) Emails that do not provide a clear and functional unsubscribe mechanism;
(3) Emails that conceal sender information, including the sender’s identity, address, subject line, etc.;
(4) Emails containing false source information, such as forged sender details or routing data;
(5) Other emails that exhibit common characteristics of spam.
10.For further assistance, you may search for and follow the WeChat official account Tencent Enterprise Mail to access help resources or contact customer service. Alternatively, you may call the Informatization Office at 021-65643247 / 65643207 or send an email to urp@fudan.edu.cn or mail_service@fudan.edu.cn for support.
