Due to inherent security flaws in the architecture of the Internet—such as openness, vulnerability, and susceptibility to attacks—the management of network security on campus networks becomes particularly complex and challenging. Campus networks are typically among the first to adopt cutting-edge network technologies. They also host a dense and active user base with widespread use of various network applications. While advancing the development of an information-based campus, the Information Technology Office has never relaxed its efforts in managing and safeguarding network information security. Over the years, guided by the principle that technology and management must complement each other, and following the guiding policy of “leveraging technological advantages, standardizing management systems, and improving the safeguard framework,” Fudan University has been gradually establishing a comprehensive information security assurance system for its campus. This system aims to ensure the smooth operation of Informatization applications in teaching, research, and administrative management from multiple perspectives, including the network environment, application systems, and information resources.
